Moving to Melbourne Migration Agent

Although there is no requirement for you to use a migration agent to complete your Australian Visa Application, I personally would recommend doing so. Migration Agents deal with visa applications everyday, it is their job to know the latest information, any updates and any changes to the application forms.

A migration agent can:
• advise you on the visa that may best suit you
• tell you the documents you will need to submit with your application
• help you fill out the application form
• submit the application for you
• communicate with the DIMIA on your behalf
• From 1 October 2006 registered migration agents, in Australia and outside Australia, may certify copies of original documents that relate to visa applications, provided that their registration is not currently suspended and they are not subject to a caution that is in effect.

Please remember by using a migration agent your application will not be fast tracked, however with them checking your forms they will be able to spot any errors before you submit your application saving time on the form being returned to you.

You MUST make sure that you use a registered migration agent you can find these on the following websites:
Migration Institute of Australia (MIA) www.mia.org.au which lists migration agents who are members of the MIA by state and territory
MARA website at www.themara.com.au This website also includes a list of disciplined or de-registered agents.

How Much do Australian Migration Agents Charge?

This can range dramatically depending on how complex your application is, some are straight forward where as others may take more time and a lot more preparation. Below is a guide of how much you should be looking at paying your migration agent. Please note these prices are based on 2007 prices.
