Welcome to Mordialloc, a beachside suburb of Melbourne about 40 minutes from Melbourne by train.

Lorikeet Studio Apartment is a home-from-home for new migrants to Melbourne.

We offer a self-contained modern apartment within the boundaries of our house which we built in 2009. The apartment consists of a large room with a double bed, table and two chairs and a tv, a kitchenette (microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle), a bathroom with shower, toilet and basin and an outdoor deck with a table and chairs for your use. It has its own private entrance, so you may come and go as you please.

Staying with us is very different from staying in a hotel or other accommodation. The apartment is completely self-contained and private, and also attached to the house, so you can be as private or as sociable as you wish. Previous guests have taken part in activities such as cruising on our boat, visiting local events with us and have even met our friends at barbecues and had job interviews at their companies! Or you can shut yourselves away privately and just relax in the sun.

- unlimited advice about emigration, settling in, getting your driving licence, tax number, medicare, benefits, when your container will arrive, buying a car, where to buy the best selection of beer, where the best restaurants are etc etc etc etc

- weekly laundry, cleaning and bedding/towels changed.
- airport pickup at any time of day or night for those booking 4 weeks or more.

Mordialloc is a pleasant beachside suburb about 40 mins from the centre of Melbourne. We live in a very quiet street, and our garden is visited by beautiful parrots and other wildlife. We are a few minutes walk from shops, buses and a swimming pool, and about 15 minutes walk from the railway station and centre of Mordialloc. The beach is about 20 minutes walk.

The rate is $480 per week, including weekly laundry, cleaning and bedding/towels changed, all services and internet access for your own laptop. The only additional charge is a key deposit of $200 per set of keys, the keys are electronic and expensive to replace if lost. This deposit is refunded when you hand the keys and the apartment back to us.

We are emigrants to Australia ourselves, and can offer friendly and helpful advice for those newly arrived from other countries.
